Home

Spent the weekend in the States with the family! Saturday night in Thief River Falls and Sunday night in Grand Forks. A little well deserved R&R.

The last time we went to Thief River Falls, Max wasn't feeling well, so I spent the whole weekend holding him. But this weekend... totally different story! He loved all the water slides and the kids area. I left the camera in the room... on purpose! Wanted to live this one... not photograph it. Feels good to do that once in a while. Molly and I went on more waterslides than I can count! Loved it! (more exercise than I've had in a while too!)
Spent Sunday morning in the game room winning tickets for prizes! A purse for Molly, water pistols for the boys. Jack's favorite... whacking the alligators with the padded hammer.

Picked up school clothes for Jack and Molly in Grand Forks... Old Navy and Target.
Bought some composition journals (for gifts), two huge metal stars, some gorgeous ribbon... and that's about it. Had a great time. Wished my sister could have stayed longer! Wished Dad would've been feeling better.
I'll post pics soon.

Oh, and I'm now officially missing only Buffy Season 5 on DVD!!

Catching up on work. Check out the MSS Blog for details on that part of my life.

And, very unhappy with the Hands page I did for Jen's 2nd my life. my scrapbook. challenge (plus I damaged the picture)... just wasn't feeling it. Printed out the picture larger and in color (the black and white didn't feel right) and tried again. So much happier with it.

Challenge 1 done (finally)

Finally got challenge one done for Jen's "my life. my scrapbook." series. Better late than never.

Added some new stuff to the shoppe. Check out the MSS blog for details.

Other than that... a pretty normal day here. Worked 10-2... put out new stuff... got the October kits going for the DT... had supper with Mom... went grocery shopping with the kids (displays falling, running and yelling)... pretty much the norm.

Gotta catch Rockstar at some point tonight too.

New and improved

The girl rode a horse this weekend! And boy was she excited!!!

(not a great picture though)

Catching up on a whole bunch of stuff today (laundry, baking, etc.)... but thought I'd share pics of my newly cleaned and reorganized and re-furnitured studio.

and the first bit of magic that happened in it...

yah... well... not really magic, but it was fun anyway! And these pics were taken a couple of days ago... it really looks nothing like that now!

Play day

Played today. Did a lot of nothing. Tweeked the blog... scrapped... added some stuff to the online store... checked emails... swept... did some laundry... watched Rock Star!

Gotta work on Shannon's cleaning challenges tomorrow though... and I'll add more laundry to the list.
Should give Lola a bath too.

LOVE these pics. Gotta enlarge them I think!

blog update

Started a new blog for the store today... www.myscrapshoppe.blogspot.com. Trying to keep work seperate from everything else. Very hard most days... they all seem to blur. So, this will be my personal blog... life, scrapbooking and photography mostly (I imagine). Look to the MSS blog for store and product updates, events, etc.

Played hooky from work yesterday. Dropped in on Cindy (petes), stopped at the park, dropped in on MIL and then got some groceries. That is the LAST time I go grocery shopping with my kids!!!

Couldn't sleep last night. Up till 2:30am. Note to self: Do NOT read blogs in the evening... especially this one... Kristi Contes. Totally totally totally inspired by this chick. Wish I could "let loose" like that.

Started adding some photos to shutterfly (see link in sidebar ----->). That will take a while.

Had every intention of entering the Last Scrapper Standing contest from the Dares.
Did the first challenge... journaling on a photo. Here it is...

... and then didn't enter it! Oh well.

Other stuff I've been working on...

This is an older one (wasn't sure if I liked it, so I never posted it).

Seems like I'm still trying to find my groove.

Hopefully starting some reno soon! Can't wait for that!

It's ONLY Tuesday!?!

Made it to the triple feature on Sunday. Cool. Click, RV and DaVinci Code. We stayed for the first two. Only one more left this year (and I don't think it's an exciting one, so this may have been it).

Working the week... it's Old Time Value Days... crazy busy. Stop by and enjoy the sales! Let's all pray I make it to the weekend! Harvest Festival this weekend.

parade
kids tent
petting zoo

When does school start again!?!

Join our little informal photo-a-day group on the site! Interesting to document all the little bits of your life. I'll find a permanent home for it in the forums soon.

So much to do... little things you know...
- save July pics to disc
- download Elsie fonts that came with the book
- finish up KI entry
- clean up pool (it's too gross to continue on this year)
- make Jack's eye appointment for Kindergarten
- buy school supplies
- blah blah blah... stuff like that.

New American Crafts (paper) on the way (ETA Monday).

Painted bubble wrap and stamped on the bottom left (green). Didn't work well. MM paint is to thick... it dried too fast. Oh well.
Journaled on photo.

World Record

So we did it! A world record. Let me preface this by saying we are "Farm-ville". Small farming town/city. So when they say we're going to set a world record... AND it involves farm machinery... you better believe the whole town will show up.
We parked at the airport (not a commercial airport mind you) and then we got shuttled to the field on a tractor. Cool.
Arrived at the field. Grabbed a seat. The mission... 100 combines (I don't really know if there were 100... I counted 6o-some)... 160 acres. The previous record was 15+min. It was so very cool to see all those combines lined up.

Lights turn on.
Engines start.
Dust begins.
Plane flies low in front of the row of combines... smoke trailing. What a cool cool way to start!

Go.
Snails pace but very cool.

11+ minutes later it's over! World record set.
One of the passengers/drivers in one of the combines stands on top and waves the Canada flag. I actually get teary-eyed! (I'm very patriotic).

Sounds silly... I know. Tractors. But it's more than that. I can't explain it, but it is.

Later we find out that my father-in-law was driving one of the combines! The second closest to us as a matter of fact!

So that was our weekend.... plus I got to see my buddy Jen Saturday night too!
Watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Hopefully going to the triple feature tonight!

Need to save my photos and get ready for Old Time Value Days too.........

I did it!

I went for a walk this morning. Not as early as I wanted to, but still well before people here were up. 2 miles. Me, Lola and my iPod. Nice. It had just rained so the smell in the air was so fresh too! Love that!

Patiently waiting for this week to be over... then things should slow down here a bit (life wise) with more time to put in the store.

Posted the September and October classes. Take a peek.
Also planning some more (calendar and christmas card), so gotta get on that too.
Started planning Old Time Value Days too. Starts next week Monday. Stay tuned.

Working today. Pricing some stuff. Preordering some Basic Grey. New Chatterbox, Scenic Route and Wild Asparagus should be available in August too. I think Heidi Swapp's early too, but haven't preordered yet.

New Ali book, Simple Scrapbook Quizzes book and Can-Do Technique book are here. Elsie and Me Book should be out tomorrow. Although most of the Me Books are spoken for already. I'm reordering.
