World Record

So we did it! A world record. Let me preface this by saying we are "Farm-ville". Small farming town/city. So when they say we're going to set a world record... AND it involves farm machinery... you better believe the whole town will show up.
We parked at the airport (not a commercial airport mind you) and then we got shuttled to the field on a tractor. Cool.
Arrived at the field. Grabbed a seat. The mission... 100 combines (I don't really know if there were 100... I counted 6o-some)... 160 acres. The previous record was 15+min. It was so very cool to see all those combines lined up.

Lights turn on.
Engines start.
Dust begins.
Plane flies low in front of the row of combines... smoke trailing. What a cool cool way to start!

Go.
Snails pace but very cool.

11+ minutes later it's over! World record set.
One of the passengers/drivers in one of the combines stands on top and waves the Canada flag. I actually get teary-eyed! (I'm very patriotic).

Sounds silly... I know. Tractors. But it's more than that. I can't explain it, but it is.

Later we find out that my father-in-law was driving one of the combines! The second closest to us as a matter of fact!

So that was our weekend.... plus I got to see my buddy Jen Saturday night too!
Watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Hopefully going to the triple feature tonight!

Need to save my photos and get ready for Old Time Value Days too.........
