Revelations

Thursday Revelations:

#1 ~ I am the designated photography for the WES grade ones... self-appointed, mind you. But there I am... at the park... as I have been at the zoo and at Field Day... Canon and zoom lense in hand... standing on the top of the play structure... shooting away. Not missing a moment.

#2 ~ I miss playing with the boys. Got some good two-on-one time with the boys (at the park) today. Don't do that enough. In the summer we're going to try to get there once a week.

#3 ~ I'm not in the mood to work today. (I'm blogging instead!)

#4 ~ I've found my scrapping style (this just hit me, seriously, 5 minutes ago). Simple is not me. I love my home and surroundings clean and white. But my art... totally different story. Greatest current inspirations... Ali, Mary Grace, Genevieve (whose blog triggered this "aha moment"), Jamie Waters and the Effer Girls. Journaling is not my strong suit... I speak with the items and photos I choose to put on a page and how I do it. Is it publishable? Probably not. Does it matter? No. Is the picture clear and perfect ? Unlikely. Is it an example of great design? Maybe, maybe not. Like other aspects of my life... my kids, myself, my home, my life... my art doesn't fit a mold. It is unique and original in every respect. Maybe not always stunning or a design masterpiece, but it's me. My art is a reflection of me... or at least I want it to be. I hereby give myself the license to PLAY! Granny would be proud.
And boy... am I excited to scrap tonight!

Feelin' hot, hot, hot!

Gorgeous weather here!!! Lovin' it.
Filled up the pool yesterday. Still terribly cold, but maybe with the cover on tonight that'll help.

Garage sale is done! Yippee! Sorted the leftover goods today... what's to keep for the next garage sale and what's going to be donated. Feels good to have all that over with.

Organizing my studio a little bit. Seems like I'm always doing that. Nice to start fresh.

Hoping to get high speed soon. I know I've said it before, but I need Derek to till up the ground from the house to the clearing by the field first. He's sooo busy at work right now... which is great, don't get me wrong. Everything is just sooo slow without high speed. I can't even download pictures! So... here's links to my most recent uploads.

Thursday Ramblings

Garage sale time. Spent all evening "hosting" mine and have to go back tomorrow. If you count money, it went all right... but man... if I don't have a ton of stuff left over. Tomorrow and then that's it! Box the rest up for next year (donating some of course). At least all the baby stuff is gone (high chair, playpen, exersaucer, etc.)... the big stuff.

Jack has his "Teddy Bear Picnic" tomorrow with his future Kindergarten teacher. I'm not sure how we'll get him there though (with the garage sale), but I'm so totally excited for him!! Can't wait.

Lots of other stuff has happened...
- Molly's 1st grade field trip to the zoo
- Molly's Field Day
- Cars movie
- starting our "sidewalk" around the porch
- Max going to urgent care (nothing serious... just a little cut on the forhead and a skinned nose (kinda like rug-burn... but from gravel)
- busy busy at the store
... but I'd be typing forever if I wanted to backtrack that far... so this'll be about it.

Finalizing flights with Ali. Should have a price in the next week or so. Be sure to keep the first Friday and Saturday in December open! You don't want to miss this!

Added lots of new stuff to the shoppe. Check it out. More coming (including the Cricut).

New items from the DT in the forum too. June/Mid-June newsletter will be out this weekend.

(Max drawing lines in the dirt... truck in the other hand)
Me: "Hi Max, what are you doing?"
Max: "Making earthquake. I like earthquake."
Me: "You like earthquakes?"
Max: "Yesss". (we've moved from "yah" to "yesssssss" now in his daily vocabulary)
Me: "But earthquakes wreck things."
Max: "Yesss."
Me: "You like things to get wrecked?"
Max: "Yesss. I like broken cars... broken wheels..."
(Just another example of how my boys LOVE anything rusty and broken!

But it's late... and I have to sell some wares tomorrow.

Night.

(and as usual, it's not letting me post pics of my layouts today, so I'll post them tomorrow.)

Refreshed

Back from a weekend away... whisked away by my husband for a weekend of rest and relaxation! Well.... me and the kids.... and there was a lot of swimming and playing and some shopping... not much relaxation... but still a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
Thursday night Derek called me at the Shoppe and told me his job for the weekend fell through and that he needed to get away! So I went home packed, and we left Friday morning. Down to Grand Forks for the weekend.
Did some shopping (Old Navy, Target, American Eagle...), lots of swimming and some relaxing.
Lots of fun was had by all.

Lots to do today and I'll update tomorrow.
