Saturday

Busy day today!

Found an ugly clock at the Superstore yesterday. Marked down to $1.84 (from $7.99). I took it apart and covered it with KI Memories paper. Added some American Crafts stickers and voila! I'm not sure if I'll add some number rub-ons to the cover yet or not. At first I was going to paint the frame, but who knows when that would've happened... so I decided to work with the pink. (Not that it matches anything else in my studio though!!)

Posted the Make & Take for the crop today.

The instructions for the Door Hanger are posted here.

And posted another layout I did a while ago.

Now, to go work on the laundry and the storage room.

Croppin' weekend

Well, the MSS online crop is underway... pretty quiet, but I'm having fun! Plan to do more tomorrow (in between cleaning the bathroom, laundry and organizing the storage room).

Managed to change my header finally! No more dot! It now has a name too!!! JUST BE.

Didn't make it into the storage room today, although I did buy some Rubbermaid containers. I also went a little basket crazy. Oh well. I feel better if everything has a home.

Got the make and take ready for Saturday. 2pm. Door Hanger. The supply list is posted if you want to check it out.

The boys went out in the evening to get a truck from the sandbox... and came back in crying. It turns out that Jack was holding Max's stuffed kitty outside and left it there. The dogs totally ripped it to shreds. Luckily the florist's right beside the shoppe have that exact kitty in their display window. I called and they're holding it for me.
I know... if I'd just let it go he'd forget about it and move on... he has 6 other kitties in his crib. He is 2 and a half after all... but there's something about the stuffed animals a boy sleeps with. They're special.

Progress Report

So... it's begun. Christmas decorations, old agendas, baby clothes, books... it's all out of the storage room. There is no room to walk in the rest of the basement now though. Next is measuring the "wall". There is currently no wall between the storage room and the playroom... just shelves dividing the two spaces. So before we haul everything back in we'll build the wall. I hate not being able to finish. Tonight I'll pick up some Rubbermaid containers. I'm going to try to limit everyone in the household to 2-3 containers. Wish me luck.
Once that's done I can (hopefully) get some things priced for a garage sale... my "Went to Florida Fund". LOL
Got the pantry organized too though! That was a bonus!

To Do:
- install Photoshop Elements
- play with Word
- iTunes
- storage room
- custom cards (7 baby, 7 wedding)
- Saturday's make and take
- laundry
- pay bills
- crop (tonight at the store)
- rearrange store (next week?)
- save pics to disc
- order pics (next week)
- blogger header (this weekend)

Don't forget to join us in the MSS forums for our Online Crop starting tomorrow at 8pm CST and going into Saturday! Anita, Jen and myself will be hosting! There'll be challenges, prizes, a make and take on Saturday and more! It should be fun!

Here's a peek at the project for the Tuesday, May 9th class... a wall hanging (used wood for the base). Perfect for Mother's day! Sign up today!

Digging out

So, today I plan on digging through my storage room. It's time. Time to decrease the clutter. The only place in my house that I want to be visually overwhelming is my studio... overwhelming but organized!
So I'm trying to simplify my life and my home. It'll take a while but I'm going to try.

So, today will be a cleaning day... storage room, laundry... the usual. Gotta get the online crop for this weekend ready too.

My computer/laptop is a pain today. I'm trying to load my layouts from SSD, but whenever I hook it back up here I have to reinstall my scanner, and I'm so not in the mood for that. I'm on a mission to get high speed and a new PC! Need to update the header on here too.

And... because I'm a chronic list-maker... here goes...

- clean out storage room (get stuff garage sale ready)
- laundry
- plan online crop
- plan store NSD stuff
- make more cards
- fix my iTunes (easier with high speed)
- update header
- high speed (ASAP)
- rearrange store (in the next couple of days)
- tonight - ANTM, Amer. Idol, Amazing Race
- fill out Jack's Kindergarten form
- make May class project

Soul Patrol

You know those pictures you keep putting aside to scrap some other time. Well... that was those. Just grabbed them and scrapped them finally.

Love how this one turned out. Derek's constantly taking pics of vehicles... and now I finally get to scrap a new one! Took a toy truck, drove it through an ink pad, and then across my page. Did a little title/accent collage thing too. Totally inspired by Jamie Waters and Tara Whitney lately. Oh... and the top right of the page is cut in a curve... that's not a piece of black cardstock!

Today was TV night here! American Idol was on... the results show! I'm so onboard the Soul Patrol! Love Taylor. Love a guy who sings just to sing! Such a passion for it. He just makes me smile! Course I'd be happy for Chris to win too. And Amazing Race! So glad the hippies are still there! Love them and how they are having so much fun! America's Next Top Model. Jade. 'Nuf said.

Super Scrap Day prep to do:

- pack goodie bags

- finish pricing new stuff

- gather items for sale at SSD (Friday)

- SSD handouts

- assemble prizes/draws

- snacks/drinks

I'm sooo not comfortable planning events. That said.... still working on Ali plans. Should have a final date and location in the next day or two. Stay tuned.

4 more days!

4 more days till Super Scrap Day. 4 more days till I can see new friends... and visit with old ones! 4 more days till I can sleep! ;)

Lots to do by then...
- goodie bags
- draws (printed out, organized)
- set up sale items
- challenges, print-outs, etc.
- finish pricing new stuff (American Crafts, Crate, etc.)
- order new stuff right after (ie. KI)
- get DT kits out

The mid-April newsletter went out... let me know if you didn't get it!

New Fontwerks will arrive by then... they will come in and sell out in a matter of minutes (I'm sure). I'll order more on Monday.

Some Ali dilemmas....
facility... would you rather have a "fancy" location for classes (like a conference room), with a higher cost, or a "simple" location (like a school gym), with a lower cost?
Do the crop and the classes (on two separate days) need to be in the same location?
Once the location is nailed down I can get a price together.

Scrapped today! Can't believe it! I played hookie from work to do 8 loads of laundry (still not caught up) and got a page done! too bad I hate scanning. Scrapworks, some KI, the boys toy truck... I'm actually very pleased with it! Plus I got to use the Provocraft Etcetera Rolling Stamp (sorry I don't have an image for it!). That thing will be addicting!

Made a ton of phone calls today too... phone company, high speed internet inquiries, Ali location inquiries.... feels good to make a little dent in some of those little things I just keep putting off and off.

Cleaned up the yard major on Sunday! Trimmed evergreens like crazy! You can see the driveway now... it's really weird! But looks good.

And Lola's now an outside (in the summer) dog for night. Tired of waking up in the morning and cleaning up garbage and poop. We'll try again in winter... but for now it's so nice out!

So tomorrow is back to work... lots of orders to pack, things to price, etc.

Oh... and I should have the tote bags for this weekend! I hope they look cool! I often have layouts in my head, and when I finish them they just don't look like they did when I "dreamt" them.... hopefully these bags won't turn out the same way!

(trying to add some images... but it's taking far too long... gotta love dial up!)

Ali Update

Been busy lately... be sure to check it out! Rearraged the retail store a bit today. Very cramped... I apologize. Hopefully getting some more space in the next week or two.

I'll gladly bring in any products you're interested in.

Talked to Ali today...
here's the update.
Looks like the first weekend in December is when it'll be. Still looking for a location. Once that's done I can determine the amount of spots available and then the cost. Looking at having a "Crop with Ali" (including book signing) one day and the classes "Learn with Ali" (currently 3 different classes being offered) then other day.
If anyone has any input or suggestions, please let me know.
More details will be posted as they become available.

Coming soon:
- new KI
- new Fontwerks
... and lots more.

Major forgetfulness today!

So I decided to do Rhonna's 21 Day Challenge. Late.... yes.... but that's okay. So I went to her blog to check it out further... and low and behold I had already signed up! Oops! So I'm a little behind I guess! Looks like I've got a little catching up to do!

And on the theme of "challenges" I'm totally digging Jen's take on the BOM. So looking forward to participating in that as well. And one every 2 weeks.... I can SO handle that!

MSS related:
- newsletter should be out tomorrow (Wednesday). Sorry it's late. The challenge and inspiration are already in the forum though.
- Layouts using the April kit are up.
- April kits are in store and should be online tomorrow as well. I'll post it here as well.
- new stuff added today.
- adding this week... Crate paper, 3 Bugs in a Rug, new American Crafts, Arctic Frog, Prism, etc.
- added Anita Fehr to our DT! So excited about that. She is Uber-talented!
- adding MSS and Creative merchandise to our shoppe in the next couple of weeks.

* STILL TIME TO SIGN UP FOR SUPER SCRAP DAY! DON'T MISS OUT! *

I made this layout for the Scrapbook Answers contest a month or two ago. Last year Jack when through a little "phase" where he'd throw all kinds of things in a pile and say he was starting a wood pile. (We live in the country and need to throw wood in our outdoor stove daily for heat). Not great pictures, but a great story yah know!?! Came across it a couple of days ago... I forgot to enter it! Just a majorly forgetful day today it seems!

And another...

Stitching and painting. Love that kind of stuff!

So other than that it was an ordinary day here... working at the Shoppe, picked up pics at Walmart, American Idol...

hope you had a good day too.
